Juniper Tree Ensemble
I designed a logo and poster for the Juniper Tree Ensemble, a theater group that creates radical, challenging, queer theater for all audiences, with a focus on young and teenager patrons.
The ensemble named themselves after ‘The Juniper Tree’ from Grimm’s Fairy Tale. I combined the imagery of the bird and the tree from the fairy tale into the final logo, while keeping the logo simple and light to reflect the Ensemble’s young target audience.
The Closet Monster
In June of 2021, Juniper Tree Ensemble announced a new show: The Closet Monster. Aimed at children ages 3-7, this sweet, silly and whimsical show centers children’s feelings and voices while affirming queer family structures. I designed this poster with that whimsy in mind, taking inspiration from the show’s mystery elements while being mindful of making it a friendly and eye-catching poster for children.
